Who we are

This website is run by the campaign to elect Jasmine Person as Mayor of Redland City. We handle your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. Questions about this policy go to team@jasmineformayor.au, 0475 006 796, or by post to PO BOX 7116, Redland Bay QLD 4165.

What we collect

Only what you type into a form on this site:

• Join the campaign and event alerts: first name, email and (optionally) postcode and phone.
• Volunteer: name, email, mobile, suburb, when you’re free, how you’d like to help, and any note you add.
• Host a corflute: name, email, mobile, and the street address and suburb where the sign would go, plus your confirmation that you consent to the sign.
• Invite Jasmine: name, email, mobile, organisation, suburb and the event details you give us.
• Contact: name, email, phone (optional), topic and your message.

With each submission we also record the date and time, the page you sent it from, and whether you ticked the box to receive campaign news. We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive information such as health details.

How we use it

• To reply to you and do what you asked: organise volunteering, deliver and remove a corflute, or arrange an event.
• To send campaign news, event invitations and ways to help, only if you joined the mailing list or ticked the “Send me campaign news” box. That box is never ticked for you.

We do not sell, rent or trade your details, and we do not share them with other candidates, parties or organisations.

Where it is stored

Each form submission is saved in a database run on Cloudflare’s platform, and a copy is emailed to the campaign team. If you opted in to campaign news, your name and email are also added to our email newsletter service. These providers store data on our behalf and may hold it on servers outside Australia, including in Japan (our email service’s region) and the United States. We use them only for the purposes above, and access is limited to the campaign team.

How long we keep it

We keep your details until the campaign is over, then delete them within six months of election day, unless you’ve asked to keep hearing from Jasmine or the law requires us to keep a record.

Unsubscribing, access and correction

Every campaign email has an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time. To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email team@jasmineformayor.au and we’ll act on it within 30 days.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, email us first and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Spam protection, cookies and analytics

Forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a bot, is sending them.

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they read and whether they use the forms. It sets cookies in your browser and records details such as the pages you view, your device and browser, your approximate location and how you arrived at the site. Google processes this data on our behalf, including in the United States. It doesn’t give us your name or email, and we don’t use it for advertising. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.
